Get media coverage using countdown signs - History of the countdown sign.

Tips to get media to your store using countdown signs:

1.  Get your waver out with accurate days to file sign and take a picture.  Post it on your social media and tag your local newspaper and radio stations in the post.

2.  Write a press release on your store, and submit it to local reporters for them to feature in upcoming days when they start talking about April 15th tax deadline.  Submit high resolution pictures of your store, and your wavers.

3.  Use a B2B tactic and go into a Radio station or local newspaper in costume with a days to file sign in tow.  This will certainly be the most unique thing to happen in their lobby that day and may just get you some free air time or an on the spot interview.

 Countdown Sign

History of the Liberty Tax countdown sign.

The countdown sign for Liberty Tax was the 3rd changeable sign to be created by Potatohead Signs, back in 2004.  The idea came from the desire to create urgency for the customers and also create a buzz in order to attract media attention to the stores.

The very first Days to file signs fit our original changeable waver board.  It was a square shaped sign that held rectangle panels to swap out with different messages.  (pictured above)  We are proud to report that just last month we were told by a store owner the he still has and still uses one of those original boards in his store.  We have always designed our products to last!
